Dr. Anushka Kulkarni

CMPR India is an initiative by Dr. Anushka Kulkarni, a media academician, researcher and a media consultant. With expertise in media economics, content, strategy and monetization for media platforms, she has contributed to various aspects of the media landscape. She has worked on a longitudinal research on folk and rural media, focusing on the mediums used in rural areas by analyzing the media consumption patterns of audiences. Throughout her career in media research and academics, she has aimed to contribute to the field and support the integration of academic research with industry practices. While pursuing her doctorate and later while working on various research projects, Dr. Kulkarni identified opportunities for enhancing the research landscape in media studies. Recognizing the need for better mentorship, comprehensive resources, and a stronger link between academia and the media industry, she envisioned an innovative space that would address these needs. This vision led to the establishment of the Centre for Media and Policy Research. The Centre is designed to be a hub for collaboration and innovation, where researchers and learners can come together to explore new ideas, gain access to valuable resources, and contribute to both academic and industry advancements. Dr. Anushka Kulkarni’s initiative aims to empower the next generation of media researchers by providing them with the tools and support they need to excel in their careers and make a significant impact on the media ecosystem.
